1974-1978: University of Bucharest, Faculty of History, B.A.
2005-2013: Doctoral studies, Romanian Academy. Dissertation title: “Ţările Române şi Orientul Islamic: secolele XIV-XV" (The Romanian Principalities and the Islamic East: The 14th-15th Centuries"; advisor: Prof. Dr. Şerban Papacostea. Dissertation defended on June 5, 2013.

History of the Ottoman Empire;
Romanian-Ottoman relations in the 14th-17th centuries;
Diplomatic relations between the Muslim world and the European states, 14th-17th centuries;
History of Black Sea in the period of the Ottoman domination;
Ottoman travellers in the Romanian countries.

FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Turkish, French, English; Otoman Turkish (reading).

PUBLICATIONS

Up to now I published dozens of journal articles and chapters. Also, I am co-editor of four volumes. (See List of Publictions)

I also delivered papers at national and international conferences.

TEACHING ACTIVITIES

I taught courses and seminaries at the Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest and the Faculty of History of the Ovidius University of Constanţa.
