The Research Group for the History of Minorities was formed in 2007 at the Nicolae Iorga Institute of History and consists of researchers who study various aspects of the history of ethnic minorities in Romanian and Southeast Europe, since the Middle Ages until now. Coordinator of this group is Dr. Viorel Achim.
This site presents the activity of the research group members in this history field and their main publications. The site is focused on the projects completed by the research group and its projects in progress.
We are currently working on a project with the title “The Abolitionist Movement in the Context of Civil and Political Emancipation in Modern Romania“. This project is realized within the framework of the National Plan for Research, Development and Innovation 2007-2013 (PN II), Program “Ideas”, and is funded by the National Research Council (CNCS), through the Executive Agency for Higher Education Research and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI).
